Well, let's see. I haven't written anything in a while. I went to Massachusetts with my boyfriend. We left last Thursday and came back Saturday night. We really didn't have enough time away, but it was fun while it lasted. On the way up we got stuck in a major traffic jam, oh boy was that fun. It should have taken us about four hours to get there, it took us six and a half. I've got to say that signs in MA, are very confusing, small, and far apart. The roads wind all over the damn place, are very confusing. Instead of helping people out with signs, they just leave them to get lost. Also, the MA people don't really seem to be able to give directions. I actually realized this last time I was there, but this reaffirmed it. I guess it's sort of made up for by the people being nicer there then they are here, lol.
So after we finally made it to the hotel, we sort of collapsed for a little bit. Then we were told that there was a restaurant in the local mall, so we went over. The people in the restaurant didn't tell us it was closing ten minutes from when we got there. We sat down and were looking at the menu when this friendly waitress came over to tell us they were closing. She said we could stay as long as we wanted, since the manager had let us in, he could stay with us. So we ate in a closed restaurant. After eating we wandered over to a local Barnes&Noble. My boyfriend gravitated over towards the history section, and I went to go look at some fake stuff (otherwise known as fiction). They were closing pretty soon, so we left and went back to the hotel.
I have to stop for a minute and describe the hotel. It had a spacious lobby with a floral carpet, dark wood walls, and a restaurant/bar in the lobby. I think there were also a couple of ballrooms down the hall, but we didn't explore them. The room was very nice. It was spacious with a big window overlooking the parking lot and a park, or piece of forest, something green, lol. I just have to mention (since it was mentioned to me so many times), they skipped room 413, they went straight from 412 to 414. My boyfriend pointed that out to me a few times, lol. Our room had two full size beds with white and bold quilts, very fluffy. The bathroom had a full sized shower, and of course there were the customary shampoos and stuff. It was all very nice. There was also a television, it got some good channels, lol.
Anyway, on the second day we were there we went into Salem, and did the touristy witch stuff. We saw a little play at the Griffin Theater, we saw the real dungeons that the supposed witches were held in, and a little play of part of the trials, we went to the witch museum in which we saw another little production, we went to the wax museum of witches, that was kinda cool in its way. After all that we went back to the hotel for a little bit, then we headed to Brookline, to visit my stepbrother. We only got a little bit lost, lol. So we got there, met my stepbro and his sis in their Barnes&Noble. We went to eat in a very noisy sports bar, lol. They were playing a different sport or at least a different game on every tv, and there were like 7 different televisions. It was cool though. Then we wandered around town with my stepbrother, he showed us a lot of dark alleys, lol. After wandering and talking for a bit my boyfriend and I headed back to the hotel. To do this, we first went into the CVS and asked for directions. They were pretty good, but we still got a little lost. Or actually we were going in the right way, but since everything is so windey, we thought we were lost, got little hairy for a moment. We made it back to the hotel though, and we were both tired, so we just passed out.
The next day we were supposed to check out of the hotel and go home. So we started the morning by showering and packing up all our stuff. Then we had breakfast in the hotel restaurant. There were a couple of guys there that were totally plastered. I mean it was like 10am, they were totally drunk. They were so fn loud. They were right behind us, at the bar, yelling about various things, it was very aggravating. So, after eating we went to Boston. We didn't have that much time, but we did get to Cheers. We had lunch and some beers at Cheers. By the way, we went to the real one, on Beacon St., not the "set" one. So we did that. We also saw a historical site. I'll ask my boyfriend and get back to you with what it is exactly, lol. We went up and down a street to see if we could find something to get my friend, but we couldn't.
So we headed back. It was a fast trip back only about four hours. It was thunuderstorming part of the time, but it was still ok. Later we went to local Italian restaurant and had some dinner. In the morning I had to go to work, so my boyfriend took me. I'll tell you about the next couple of days in the next entry. I can't do this anymore. Talk to ya'll later!!!!
